| The Elks National Home in Bedford, Virginia, has been called the best kept secret in Elkdom. Not anymore. This Committee has traveled throughout Ohio this past year spreading the word to members of this "Crown Jewel of Elkdom." | |||
| The National Home is the only Retirement Community dedicated solely to the Brothers and Sisters of the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks in these United States and offers a wide variety of activities and amenities. | |||
| On December 12, 2008, the official "annual lighting" of the Christmas lights at the Home took place. Julia and I looked forward to attending this wonderful ceremony; however we could not travel due to unfortunate circumstances. Nonetheless, the residents were sent a beautiful Christmas floral arrangement and Christmas cards. Dr. Ronald Plamondon, Executive Director of the Home and many of the residents responded expressing their thanks for thinking of them during the Christmas season | |||
| All Elks are encouraged to remember the National Home with financial donations. Also, if you are traveling near the National Home, please make a point to stop and visit. | |||
